art in the docks
an artists’ collective based in East London’s Royal Docks
Art in the Docks is a dynamic community of artists and creators from all ages and backgrounds, showcasing a wide range of mediums including painting, printmaking, sculpture, puppet making, fashion, textile design, automata, photography, and performance art. Our goal is to foster a collaborative and supportive environment for our members, while also organising events that connect, involve, and engage with our local community.

Art in the docks space is an artist led project space run by Art in the Docks with support from Bow Arts. Events are of high artistic quality and value but at their centre they connect with, and involve, local communities who may find themselves excluded from the traditional art world.

Charlie tymms
Charlie Tymms is a freelance puppet designer/maker working in theatre, film and the visual arts from her studio in East London. At the core of her work is the aim to create a dynamic partnership between the materials, character and physicality of a puppet collaborating with directors, actors and a project team to explore those possibilities. A keen interest in the mechanics of moving parts and the fine craft of engineering has given her an extensive knowledge of different materials and their application in puppet design.
