Another Community Coat

Tickets available here!

Do you remember the coat made for “The Place I Call Home” ? Well we’re making another one and this time in the style of one of Newham’s historical artists, Madge Gill!

At the end of August, Art in The Docks is hosting a series of plays celebrating the life and times of Madge Gill – a quiet, unassuming Newham resident whose drawings and embroideries created over a lifetime are now highly revered.

To celebrate this event, we want to make another coat – this time themed to the style of Madge Gill. We want you – the latest generation of Newham residents– to be a part of the process. Come and be Madge for a day.

If you can’t join the workshop on 11th August, you can collect a patch and sewing kit from Well Bean Café in Royal Albert Wharf and create something at home.
