Come and meet artist John Lord. John’s practice lends itself perfectly to the theme of the What a Load of Rubbish exhibition.

After leaving school at sixteen, John worked in the welding and fabrication trade as an apprentice blacksmith.

Construction and experimentation with different media evolved into the creation of sculptures using reclaimed materials.

In parallel with this he creates 2D images using the same thought processes and design principles.

The ability to salvage and re-evaluate materials, the everyday items that we casually take for granted, is the catalysis and inspiration behind his work.
